Bridging Boarders: a new beginning

So this is awkward...

I'm not sure if I actually posted about this earlier but... guess what?? I got a Bridging Boarders Buddy. So Bridging Boarders is a program in my school where students can pair up with an ELL (English Language Learner) student.
I figured this could a) be a good use of time and b) useful for EARSL. This program will help me learn how to speak more clearly so a non-native speaker could understand; explain challenging topics in simpler ways; and just get along with and work with people.
I had a buddy. She was from Rwanda and she was really nice! We would meet after school and just do her homework together. We even made plans to make cookies. Sadly, no cookies were made because she wordlessly left for a different high school. Apparently she had  moved :(. The morning I came to find her gone the ELL teacher looked around the room and pointed to a girl and said ,"you can be her buddy!"
Not I have a new buddy, her name is Priscilla and she's from the Ivory Coast! How cool is that? Anyway, I just thought the benefits I get from this club could really translate well into my work in EARSL.

In addition, the teacher let me use an old textbook they had to make my curriculum. People can be so nice.

Hi! I'm Samalya. When I'm not running about cramming for school I sit on my laptop and (attempt to) make a curriculum to improve spoken English in rural Sri Lanka!
